It is a subject requiring a strong conceptual understanding of the basic concepts on which the entire practice of accounting is based.

However fundamental it may be, the subject has become more and more relevant considering the introduction of block-chain technology in the accounting arena. 

The subject becomes very crucial for students who wish to pursue a career in finance and also to those who don't as this forms the building block of a further advanced subject named 'Financial Accounting'.

 MATHEMATICS

Mathematics is a subject that is divided in two parts. The first part is Mathematics that will develop the mathematical aptitude of the person. The second part is deals with the statistical analytical tools and commercial mathematics. This is an optional subject for Students of Commerce. The option available is Secretarial Practice.

All chapters in Mathematics and Statistics of 11th are just the continuation of Maths that the was learnt in 9th and 10th with a special focus on chapters related to commercial.

Taking maths will give an upper edge to Students  planning to do CA, CFA, MCA, Accounts, Finance, Economics, Data Analysis, etc.

Secretarial Practice

SECRETARIAL PRACTISE

The subject secretarial practice deals with the origin, importance, features, types, appointment, qualities, qualifications, functions, duties of different types of secretaries, the functioning of joint stock company. The subject is more practical and related to the recent business environment, ever changing compliances in the business which are required to be followed. It is very important to understand business correspondence, secretarial correspondence with Directors, Registrar, Banks and Insurance company.

The subject is important to develop an understanding of the  Processes of business and its environment,  the dynamic nature and interdependent aspects of business, the economic and social significance of the business activity, the practice of managing the operations and resources of the business, socio-economic and ethical dimensions of business. To acquire the knowledge of new trends in the field of business, knowledge of nature and scope of a business, small business,  private, public, and global enterprises including Internal trade.  To know about international business.

 ECONOMICS

As an academic subject, the learning of Economics starts from 9th standard. However, since 12th standard, a student starts learning microeconomics and macroeconomics as two separate branches. Microeconomics is the study the individual components of an economy such as individual prices, individual firms, individual commodity, consumer and producer behavior, etc. Macroeconomics deals with the economy as a whole and covers topics such as national income, price level, inflation, employment, savings and investment, import-export, etc. The first chapter in the textbook explains the basic meaning of the two branches. Utility, demand, supply and price are the four main concepts which the entire branch of microeconomics is centered around. These four basic concepts are covered in Chapter 2 to 5 in the textbook. Chapter 6 – “Index numbers” is the entry point in the domain of macroeconomics as this branch revolves around indicators. This chapter also briefs about statistical tools crucial in macroeconomic analysis. Last three chapters are related to macroeconomics but in the context of Indian economy. Compared to earlier standards, 12th standard economics is more analytical in nature rather than theoretical.

 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Information Technology is practical oriented subject.
It is Divided in 2 parts. Theory and SOP’s (Skill Oriented Practical’s).
It mainly focuses on Website development, Digital Marketing and Software’s related to commerce such as Tally.
Main part is HTML which is Markup Language for designing attractive webpage.
There is introduction to DBMS (Database Management Systems).
There is also introduction to Digital Marketing.
There is Introduction to Accounting Packages like Tally.
Hence, in this Digital Era, IT as a subject makes students aware about latest technology and its use in our daily life.

ENGLISH

This is a voyage through the ocean of information. Combination of realms of imagination, understanding & perception is a trilayered process of learning. The syllabus with these characteristics is focusing on the holistic development of the students. Every child's learning process is different & unique so teaching is helping them to learn 'how to learn'. So it includes use of audio visual aid, working in pairs & groups, interactive classes with traditional modes of teaching.
In Writing Skill, this year we have taken up summarizing, note - making & note-taking in detail. Personal Statements,Mind mapping, Drafting Virtual messages & Group discussion are also included. Dialogue Writing, Views and Counter Views are expected to be learnt.

GERMAN

Despite advances in technology, human language remains the most essential tool for interaction and communication. Learning various languages help us to broaden our horizon.

‘Sprachlosten 1’ (Textbook for 11th) introduces young learners to the German language and cultural nuances in German-speaking countries. It offers learners basic vocabulary, grammar concepts in a systematic and creative manner.

Starting from day-to-day vocabulary learners can express themselves on a wide range of topics in a detailed manner, can use the language effectively and flexibly in their social and professional life, developing all the skills pertaining to language learning.
